Applicants who apply for a SEED 1.0 Grant are not eligible for a SEED 2.0 Grant. Applicants who apply for a SEED 2.0 Grant are not eligible for a SEED 1.0 Grant.

SEED Grant Program 1.0 (SEED 1.0) utilizes $5 million in funding from the Cannabis Equity Grant for Local Jurisdictions to provide financial assistance to verified Social Equity Individual Applicants.

Through SEED 1.0, Phase 3 Retail Round 1 Social Equity Individual Applicants deemed eligible for further processing pursuant to Los Angeles Municipal Code 104.06.1(b) may be eligible to receive a financial grant of $25,000.

To be eligible, applicants must apply within 120 days of the opening of the SEED 1.0 application period.

Funds shall be disbursed on a first come, first served basis.

SEED Grant Program 1.0 Overview

Any remaining grant funds not awarded by 90 days prior to the end of the City’s Agreement with the State of California regarding the CEG may be disbursed on a pro rata basis to Applicants who applied for the SEED Grant 1.0 by August 18, 2021.

Applicants who receive funds under the SEED 1.0 Grant are not eligible to apply for a SEED 2.0 Grant. Applicants who receive funds under the SEED 2.0 Grant are not eligible to apply for a SEED 1.0 Grant.

SEED Grant Program 2.0 (SEED 2.0) utilizes $1 million in funding from the Cannabis Equity Grant for Local Jurisdictions to provide financial assistance to verified Social Equity Individual Applicants.

Through SEED 2.0, verified Social Equity Individual Applicants may apply to receive a financial grant of $10,000 available in two disbursements upon meeting the following licensing milestones: (1) $5,000 when DCR deems the Pre-Application eligible for further processing; and (2) $5,000 when the Applicant is eligible for a Notice of Local Compliance Underway.

To be eligible, applicants must apply within 120 days of the opening of the SEED 1.0 application period.

SEED Grant 2.0 Overview
